Some considerations for a government-supported ride-hailing platform in Karnataka

In collaboration with the Centre for Labour Studies, National Law School of India University, Bengaluru, we presented a memo to the Karnataka government on creating a government-supported ride-hailing platform in the state. The memo focused on the issues and challenges faced by new entrants in digital markets like ride-hailing spaces, and how to govern the ecosystem in a way that enables centering of worker rights and a competitive market not driven by entrenched and dominant players.
