Aaditeshwar Seth
Aaditeshwar Seth is the co-founder and CEO of Gram Vaani. He also teaches computer science at IIT Delhi. He is passionate about building technology for social development that actually leads to impact. He worked briefly with IBM Research, before which he did his Ph.D. under Prof. S. Keshav and Prof. R. Cohen from the University of Waterloo, and B.Tech. from IIT Kanpur.
Anita Anand
Anita Anand has over 40 years of experience in the development sector. Currently Anand is Director, Com First (India) Private Ltd, a niche company focusing on telecommunications, gender and development. With degrees in Education from India and the US, she has worked in and with civil society organisations, the UN system and donor agencies that focus on development. Involved in the women’s global movement since 1975, Anand has done research, policy analysis and written on issues from a gender perspective. She has documented (in print and audio visual media) development projects and written extensively on development. She is the author and co-author of several books and numerous articles. Anand has conducted gender assessments and evaluated various sector projects and programmes.

Dhruv Arora
Dhruv Arora is a gender rights activist, a social media activism practitioner, and the founder of the GotStared.At campaign against Sexual Harassment. He currently works with Youth Ki Awaaz and has previously worked with CREA and the Must Bol Campaign. Dhruv strongly believes in energising and using Social Media as a strong agent of Social Change and Engagement.
Jahnvi Andharia
Jahnvi Andharia is the founder member of ANANDI, an organisation working towards collectivising marginalised rural women across four districts in Gujarat, to help them become active agents of change to improve their living conditions and develop sustainable livelihoods. This is also one of IT for Change's partner organisations, that aims at advancing the rights of marginalised and vulnerable women. An alumnus of St. Xavier’s College, and TISS Mumbai, India (1987-89 batch), she is currently based in Ahmedabad. Before setting up ANANDI in 1995, she worked with Mahila Samakhya Gujarat and SPARC in Maharashtra.
Kamayani Bali Mahabal
Kamayani Bali Mahabal is a human rights lawyer and activist with a background in journalism and clinical psychology. She has been actively involved in research and advocacy of human rights violations for over decade now. She is also a Founder Member of human rights organisation ' AHSAAS', involved in educating people in the field of human rights by way of providing legal remedies and aid to victims of economic, social, psychological and physical oppression in Punjab.

Kaushal Kishore is the Joint Administrator (Finance) at the Department of Telecommunications.
Kruti Laheru
Kruti works with the Kutch Mahila Vikas Sangathan (KMVS), Gujarat. She has completed her B.E in computers, and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Management of NGOs from EDII. She started her developmental journey in 2004, by working with 'Gantar' on child rights of salt pan and brick kiln workers. She has completed seven years of this journey, and has been learning many concepts - be it in renewable energy or ICT. She finds her association with KMVS particularly fufilling, as it has opened up new dimensions of the self.
Why I am (though I am not, literally!!) feminist: Because I believe the world is meant to be equal,and in equality lies the balance of life.
Laxmi Sharma
Laxmi Sharma started working for Khabar Lahariya in the Sitamarhi edition in Bihar in 2010. She has been the co-editor for the Sitamarhi edition for the last two years and is now based out of Lucknow, lending support to editions of the newspaper in Uttar Pradesh. She has a keen interest in new media and has been actively involved in building an outreach for Khabar Lahariya through mobile phones and new media.
Naurthiji is a grassroots leader with the Mazdoor Kisan Shakti Sangathan (MKSS).
Nikhil Dey
Nikhil Dey works with the Mazdoor Kisan Shakti Sangathan (MKSS). Mazdoor Kisan Shakti Sangathan (MKSS) and the National Campaign for Peoples Right to Information (NCPRI). After working briefly with the Khedath Mazdoor Sangathan in Madhya Pradesh, he joined Aruna Roy and Shankar Singh in 1987 to go to Devdungri, in Rajsamand District in Rajasthan. Following this,he has been working with the MKSS since its inception in 1990. Nikhil Dey has also been actively involved with the Campaign on Right to Food and other Human Rights organizations.
Paranjoy Guha Thakurta
Paranjoy Guha Thakurta is an independent journalist and an educator. His work experience, spanning nearly 35 years, cuts across different media: print, radio, television and documentary cinema. He is a writer, speaker, anchor, interviewer, teacher and a commentator. His main areas of interest are the workings of India’s political economy and the media, on which he has authored/co-authored books and directed/produced documentary films. In 2013, he directed a short documentary film Coal Curse which highlighted the wrongs in the Indian coal mining industry. His 2014 book Gas Wars, co-authored with Subir Ghosh and Jyotirmoy Chaudhuri, dealt with alleged irregularities of the prices of natural gas in the Indian market. Some of the media organizations that he has worked with are Business India, BusinessWorld, The Telegraph, India Today, The Pioneer, and Television Eighteen.
Poorvi Bhargava
Poorvi Bhargava has been working with Khabar Lahariya for over two years, providing editorial support to rural women journalists in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar both in reporting and managing and updating the Khabar Lahariya news website. She also manages social media sites for Khabar Lahariya.
Prabir Purkayastha
Prabir Purkayastha is President, Centre of Technology and Development, an institution working on technology applications and policy issue; and Chairperson, Knowledge Commons, a group working on issues of patents, copyright and commons. He is a founder-member of Delhi Science Forum, a group of science activists working on science and technology policies; and also Newsclick India, an independent trust which covers and analyses key issues in today's world from points of view virtually missing from the coverage of the dominant corporate media. He is also a Member of the Expert Group of Infrastructure and Industrial Application of the Ministry of Information Technology.
Why I am a feminist: Anybody who is not a feminist is then not willing to fight for the discrimination against women. Of course, this fight must be also against the socialisation that all of us undergo in our lives.
Rohini Lakshane
Rohini Lakshane is currently a researcher at the Centre for Internet and Society. An instrumentation engineer by training, she has worked as a technology journalist in the print and web domains with Electronics For You, Tech2 and CHIP. Her body of work encompasses a diverse range of topics -- technology for good, enterprise technology, consumer electronics, free and open knowledge, the intersection of gender and technology, and online civil liberties. Her previous assignment was as the editor of EroTICs India, a project on the intersection of gender, sexuality and Internet. Rohini is also a long-time Wikipedian. In a volunteer capacity, she has chaired the Gender gap project at the Wikimedia Chapter (India), which aims to address gender equity and increase the participation of women in Wikipedia and its sister projects.
Sarada Muraleedharan
Sarada Muraleedharan is an IAS officer (of the Kerala cadre,1990 batch). She has worked extensively on social justice and welfare, human resource development and rural development. From 2008 to 2012, she was the Executive Director of Kudumbasree, Kerala. Sarada is currently the Joint Secretary of the Department of Panchayat Raj.
Satyarupa Shekhar
Satyarupa Shekhar leads the work on electoral accountability at Transparent Chennai. She holds a Masters degree in Law and Economics from the University of Rotterdam, where she was an Erasmus Mundus scholar. Satyarupa has worked at the World Social Forum 2004 and Democracy Connect, an organisation that provides information and research support elected representatives and other political actors. She has also worked as a Teaching Associate at the Indian School of Business, Hyderabad.
Sejal Dand
Sejal Dand is an alumnus of M.S. University Vadodara and TISS Mumbai, India (1987-89 batch) currently based in Delhi. After working with Mahila Samakhya Gujarat and Centre for Social Justice she joined in setting up ANANDI.She has also been a National Advisor with the Commissioner appointed by the Supreme Court in the Right to Food hearings.
Sowmya Kidambi
Sowmya Kidambi is currently the Director of the Society for Social Audit, Accountability and Transparency, set-up by the Department of Rural Development, Government of Andhra Pradesh to carry out independent Social Audits of the MGNREGS. Prior to joining SSAAT in her current role, she was associated with the Strategies and Performance Innovations Unit, Department of Rural Development, Government of Andhra Pradesh (India) as Social Development Specialist where she was actively involved in institutionalising the social audit process as part of the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme. From 1998, she worked with the Mazdoor Kisan Shakti Sangathan (MKSS) based in Rajasthan and has also lent Technical Assistance to various Organizations across the world to understand and carry out Social Audits of welfare Schemes. She has been instrumental in training various organizations in conducting on-site, live social audits of various schemes in Kenya and South Africa and anchored training programmes on social audit in a host of countries. Sowmya holds a M.A in Social Work (Urban and Rural Community Development) from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Bombay, India.

Sumandro Chattapadhyay
Sumandro Chattapadhyay is a researcher interested in the history and politics of informatics in India, media and technology studies, and political economy. He works with The Sarai Programme, Centre for the Study of Developing Societies, Delhi, as a Research Associate, focusing on topics of information infrastructure and social media. He is also associated with DataMeet, GeoHackers, and the Centre for Internet and Society, Bangalore.
Venu Arora
Venu Arora is the Co-Founder Director of Ideosync Media Combine, An India based non profit working on Communications for Social Change. She also undertakes consultancies for strategic design, research and Evaluation of Community Media, Participatory communication and communication for development initiatives. Venu is a media trainer and a filmmaker. She specializes in planning, design and execution of integrated communication initiatives for multi-sectoral development programs, with special emphasis on issues of health, gender and sexuality, education and young people. She has extensive experience in the south, south Asia and south east Asia region, innovating for participatory communication structures for social change.
