As part of the Asia Pacific Regional CSO Engagement Mechanism (APRCEM), IT for Change is developing a collective stance on the progress towards Agenda 2030 to be presented at the High Level Political forum (HLPF), 2017. The theme of the this years' review of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Sustainable Development Goals is "Eradicating poverty and promoting prosperity in a changing world". In this instance, we critique and provide additions and alternate language (with explanations) to the Draft Ministerial Declaration of the High Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development and the ECOSOC High Level Segment, 2017. Our input qualifies current provisions on ICTs and data-based decision making by fore-fronting the need to develop an inclusive information society. This means, amongst other things, addressing the gaping gender digital divide and online gender based violence and displacing data from the driver's seat.
