Platforms are to the network age what the factory was to the industrial revolution. As with all times of paradigmatic change, public policy making in the domain must evolve to effectively meet the needs of the times. With support from International Development Research Council (IDRC), IT for Change’s global project ‘Policy frameworks for digital platforms – Moving from openness to inclusion’ addresses this challenge by exploring the institutional-legal arrangements that are adequate to a future economy.
On 15th-16th June 2018, the network will convene its project meeting at IIT-B. This meeting, co-organized by IT for Change and Centre for Policy Studies, IIT-B will bring together a global network of scholars and researchers over a period of two days to share insights and research from a range of regional, cultural and political-economic contexts. This meeting will give students to engage with policy oriented empirical research coming in from 13 countries in Asia, Africa, Latin America, Europe and North America addressing various themes and domains including e-commerce, agritech, ride-sharing, tourism and hospitality and fin-tech.
