Parminder Jeet Singh will be a panelist at the session "Data Law in China and India" at the Global Data Law Conference which will be held on April 26-27, 2019 at NYU School of Law.
He'll be reflecting on India's data laws in the context of the broader e-commerce policy.
He'll also be a part of the discussion on "Developing Digital Economies".
The conference aims to examine, among other issues, emerging governance regimes for transnational access to data and transnational data sharing. Scholars and practitioners from different jurisdictions will discuss extraterritorial regulation via (i) national data localization and data sovereignty as well as open data approaches, (ii) international organizations and the proliferation of hubs and data collaboratives, and (iii) "safe spaces" for data sharing via trusts, community governance and various techno-legal solutions.
