Anita Gurumurthy has been invited to take part in a workshop on ‘Social and Solidarity Economy for Advancing the Sustainable Development Goals in Asia’ being organized by the International Labour Organization from 18-19 June 2024.

Anita will be participating in a panel on ‘Social and Solidarity Economy and Workers' Rights and Conditions in Digital Labour Platforms.’

The panel aims to explore how social and solidarity economy entities leverage the potential of the platform economy to build a fair, inclusive workplace where workers' voices and rights are respected and upheld. Examples of platform cooperatives, democratically owned and governed digital platforms in the region will be featured.

The panel will be moderated by Phu Huynh, Specialist, Employment DWT-Bangkok. Besides Anita, Akkanut Wantanasombut, Founder of Tamsang-Tamsong; and Heira Hardiyanti, Founder of MyCoolClass platform cooperative will be taking part in the discussion.
