The Young Researchers for Social Impact (YRSI) program is a one-of-its-kind initiative designed to immerse high school students in 'live' research projects with social impact organizations. In the 2023 edition, the program has 85 teens in the age group of 15-18, who are working with the Young Leaders for Active Citizenship (YLAC) and partner organization over five weeks to produce meaningful and in-depth research work on social issues such as queer rights, tech, mental health, legal education, and, gender justice, and more.
Malavika Rajkumar was invited to interact with the students in the program and share her experiences and ideas on translating research into action. The students greatly benefited from the interaction and information shared in the session about developing their research and develop advocacy materials.
