Anita Gurumurthy spoke at the 29th Commission on Science and Technology for Development (CSTD), held on 21 April 2026, at the Palais des Nations, Geneva.
Anita was a panelist under Agenda 2: Review of progress made in the implementation of and follow-up to the outcomes of the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) at the regional and international level.
For her presentation, Anita focused on frameworks to build an enabling environment for WSIS implementation. She emphasized that a new tech paradigm needs institutional frameworks that advance human rights and societal well-being, centering the right to public participation in shaping democratic technological trajectories.
