Yogesh K S gave a lightning talk hosted by the Creative Commons Open Education Platform demonstrating how MediaWiki platform, and Wikimedia open knowledge projects can be used as pedagogical tools to access content online, collaboratively create and share learning resources, thereby facilitating and integrating wikis into the Open Education. The talk also discussed various ways in which MediaWiki is currently being used to collaboratively create Open Educational Resources (OER) and manuals and toolkits for Free and Open-Source Software at IT for Change. And it also discussed how Student teachers of various teacher education institutes are currently contributing and using various Wikimedia projects like Wikipedia and Commons in creating classroom teaching materials.
