Convening of the Global Platform Workers Solidarity Project (GPWSP)

On 10 May 2026, Shobhit facilitated the Convening of the Global Platform Workers Solidarity Project (GPWSP) in Nairobi, Kenya. Organised by GPWSP, of which IT for Change is a member of the Facilitation Committee, the strategy convening brought together more than 80 participants, including unions, worker organisations, researchers, and civil society partners, ahead of the 2026 International Labour Conference.

The meeting focused on developing coordinated advocacy strategies for negotiations on the proposed ILO Convention on Decent Work in the Platform Economy. Shobhit's intervention drew on India's regulatory experience, with particular emphasis on algorithmic management, worker data rights, and priorities for strengthening the proposed international labour standards.

The engagement deepened understanding of key research questions, generated new collaborations and networks, strengthened advocacy for improved policy and practice, and contributed to ongoing discourse on platform labour and workers' rights.
