Filling the Legal Blanks: Access to Justice for LGBTQIA+ in Online Gender-Based Violence Laws

A community lab hosted by IT for Change and InternetLab.

The lab aims to throw light on how judicial systems can ensure access to justice for LGBTQIA+ persons in cases of online gender-based violence in the Global South. The lab will explore models and strategies to mitigate violence and identify challenges faced by the LGBTQIA+ community across various legal systems and jurisdictions, in the context of gender and sexual violence and hate. The Lab will be inclusive and intends to discuss diverse experiences and opinions from marginalized groups.

What Next for Worker Rights: Lessons from the Data Frontier

A community lab hosted by IT for Change, Why Not Lab, and ILO.

The lab will focus on the current state of affairs and the future agenda for workers’ rights in the digital economy.
The discussion will focus on crystalizing workers’ rights within national legislatures and through international benchmarks, as well as exploring policies for worker-led alternatives.

The session will be facilitated by key voices at this intersection: Christina Colclough (Why Not Lab), Anita Gurumurthy (IT for Change), Uma Rani (Senior Researcher on the platform economy, ILO), and Simel Esim (Program Manager, Coop Unit, ILO), to draw on participants' suggestions, and to shape strategies for the fight ahead.

Wednesday, June 8| 2:30 pm – 3:30 pm IST (05:00 am – 06:00 am EST)

Attendance is open for those who register for RightsCon 2022
