Sreyan Chatterjee participated in the ‘International Conference on New Technologies and the Future of Work in the Global South’ organized by the Institute for Human Development, International Labour Organization, and Wits University, in collaboration with Niti Aayog. The three-day event began on 17 July 2023.
At the conference, Sreyan shared a presentation on ‘Pathways of Regulation of Digital Labor Platforms: The Algorithmic Management Question in Global South’. The presentation touched on many aspects related to digital labor platforms, including their emergence, business models, capabilities, regulations concerning them, different aspects of labor regulations, and much more.
Sreyan also touched upon a few of IT for Change’s work in the area: Decent Work vis-a-vis Workers’ Data Rights and Social Security Concerns in an Algorithmified Workplace; and Workers’ Data Rights in the Platformized Workplace.
