Parminder Jeet Singh will be participating in a public round table discussion on "Open Digital Ecosystems: The Way Forward for India", co-hosted by Omidyar Network India and Carnegie India. This session is part of the first virtual edition of the annual Global Technology Summit (GTS), 2020, co-hosted by Carnegie India and the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India

The theme for this year is "Geopolitics of Technology", and the summit hopes to bring together world leaders, cabinet ministers from different countries, CEOs of big tech companies, key data privacy and security experts, representatives from different central banks, leading public health professionals, and pioneers in the field of digital and financial inclusion.

This roundtable will include inputs from key government stakeholders and advisors who are steering pioneering digital ecosystems in India, and invite discussants from academia, civil society, and private sector to engage in a stimulating conversation, which will address the questions of:

  • How we can ensure Open Digital Ecosystems (ODEs) in critical sectors like health and social protection are inclusive?
  • Is the personal data of citizens safe in these systems?
  • Do they have responsive grievance redressal mechanisms?
  • Are they set up to drive innovation on top of the core digital infrastructure?
