Anita Gurumurthy was invited to chair a panel discussion on Public Spaces as the Primary Terrain of Contestation with Digital Emerging as Counter/Parallel Public organized by Krea University. This discussion was part of a wokrshop titled ‘The Public and Digital: Examining the Spatial Dimensions of Increasing Gender-based Violence in India.’The workshop aims to convene policymakers, legal specialists, experts from academia, and practitioners to explore the shifting nature of the public, its interplay with gender-based violence, and how violence manifests across conventional and emerging spaces.

The other speakers for the session were Ms. Bishakha Datta (co-founder and executive director of Point of View), Ms Kalpana Viswanath, (Co-Founder and CEO, of Safetipin), and Ms. Meera Sundarajan, Team Lead and Gender and M&E at the Gender and Policy Lab, Greater Chennai Corporation.
