Sunday, 5 March
Conversation with the Head of UN Women and Co-chair of CSW67

This virtual session will showcase priorities for the CSW and exchange ideas on different topics in a structured space open to all. Anita Gurumurthy, Executive Director at IT for Change, will be the moderator for the high-level conversation with Sima Bahous, the Executive Director of UN Women, and the Honorable Mathu Joyini, Ambassador of South Africa and Co-chair of CSW67.

Monday, 6 March
1. A Feminist Digital Justice Declaration for Generation Equality
Organizers: Development Alternatives with Women for a New Era (DAWN) and IT for Change

During this in-person session, DAWN and IT for Change will bring together members of their Feminist Digital Justice Working Group and a panel of experts to launch the Declaration of Feminist Digital Justice. Alongside Nandini Chami, Deputy Director at IT for Change, panelists will reflect on the necessity of such a project in our current digital paradigm.

2. Feminist Development Policy Goes Digital

Nandini Chami, Deputy Director at IT for Change, will be on the panel of this Side Event, which will critically assess how feminist development and foreign policy can support feminist and women’s rights organizations and activists' causes in the digital sphere.

Tuesday, 7 March
1. How can Feminist Development Policy Support Women's Organizations and Activists in the Digital Sphere?

This session will demand a shift away from digitally-fueled neoliberalism to uplift feminist visions and alternatives by leveraging and appropriating digital technologies to achieve economic justice. Merrin Muhammed Ashraf, Research Assistant at IT for Change, will join the session as a participant.
2. Policy & Implementation: Understanding Experiences and Reacting in Order to Mainstream Gender in Digital Development

Nandini Chami, Deputy Director at IT for Change, will be participating in a moderated dialogue on how to ‘REACT’ for digital equality focusing on rights-based approaches, education, access, content, and clear targets for achieving our goals.

1. A Phone of My Own: Sexual, Economic and Gender Empowerment

Deepti Bharthur, Research Fellow at IT for Change, will be speaking at this Side Event that explores the gender-transformative power of mobile phones and the increased risks to sexual and gender-based violence in digital spheres.
2. Fit for Future? - A Global Digital Compact for Gender Justice

At this hybrid session, the Political Feminism Program of the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung and Nandini Chami, Deputy Director at IT for Change, will present a Charter of Feminist Demands on what feminists seek from the Global Digital Compact.

For a Gender-Transformative Digital New Deal

Interactive Expert Panel on Innovation and Technological Change, and Education in the Digital Age for Achieving Gender Equality and the Empowerment of All Women and Girls

The Interactive Expert Panel will be an opportunity to take stock of current research, analysis, and practice, and make informed, practical, and action-oriented recommendations to the Commission and its members.
