Briefing on the Global Digital Compact

Anita Gurumurthy was invited to brief diplomats at the South Centre on 26 June 2024 on the Global Digital Compact. The event was co-organized by the South Centre and the Transnational Institute.

During her presentation, Anita spoke about the ways to expand inclusion in and benefits from the digital economy for all, and highlighted the need to advance responsible and equitable international data governance. She also elaborated on how to close all digital divides and accelerate progress towards the SDGs, and underscored the need to foster an inclusive, open, safe, and secure digital space that respects, protects, and promotes human rights.
