Digital technologies can contribute to structural change in the economy, social equity, and expansion of human capabilities. Yet, inclusive outcomes are far from automatic. Current trends suggest widening digital and data divides, with low-income countries falling further behind while growing wealth is accumulated by very large corporations in a few countries. Against this backdrop, this session explored: How can international cooperation advance national and regional efforts to develop enabling environments for inclusive digital transformation, foster innovation and entrepreneurship, including amongst women, youth and other underrepresented entrepreneurs?

Anita Gurumurthy participated in this experts meeting, where she discussed policies and strategies that can be leveraged to foster a more inclusive digital economy, focusing on the context of exclusion, international governance, and national governance.
