Viraj Desai was invited to speak at the Global Cooperative Conference 2024, organised by the International Cooperative Alliance (ICA) on 27th November in New Delhi. This is part of a parallel session titled 'Cooperatives, and Digital and New Technologies.'
Besides Viraj, the panel also includes Piero Ingrosso, Legacoop, Italy; Manuel Leiva, president of FACTTIC; Member of Patio.coop and Steve Ediger, Founding Worker-Owner of ChiCommons Cooperative.
This biennial Global Cooperative Conference is organised by ICA along with the Indian Farmer Fertiliser Cooperative (IFFCO), in cooperation with the cooperative movement of India and in coordination with the Union Ministry of Cooperation, Government of India. This year's theme is "Cooperatives Build Prosperity for All". Additionally, this conference marks the global launch of the United Nations International Year of Cooperatives 2025.
