Anita Gurumurthy will be participating in the Paulo Freire Centennial, organized by the University of Loughborough, London, celebrating the birth of the Brazilian educator. The program consists of talks based on the five principles of Freire’s ‘ontological call’ – humility, empathy, love, hope and dialogue – which he presented as the spirit of his work Pedagogy of the Oppressed (1968), as well as opening and closing plenary sessions.

Anita will be giving a talk on the topic of Humility, on March 23, 2021. She will be joined for a panel discussion by Colin Chasi, University of the Free State, South Africa, and the session will be moderated by Jo Tacchi, Loughborough University, London.
