On 10 May 2026, Sadhana Sanjay participated online from Manila as a speaker at the Political Management Training – Civil Society Perspectives on AI Governance, organised by FES Asia-Pacific. The workshop formed part of the IDRC Feminist AI Project and brought together more than 40 participants, primarily young political leaders and policy advisors from across the Asia-Pacific region, aiming to equip future policymakers with perspectives on pressing digital issues.

Sadhana's presentation centred on gender justice and AI governance, arguing that dominant narratives often focus disproportionately on the implications of AI use and deployment for women's rights, while overlooking the hidden patterns of exploitation and extraction embedded within AI development itself. She called for an integrated approach combining social, economic, and digital policy to transform the structural conditions within which AI systems are developed, opening up more emancipatory digital futures for women.

The engagement deepened understanding of the project's core research questions, expanded collaborative networks, strengthened policy advocacy, and contributed to wider discourse on AI governance and gender justice, advancing the project's goal of strengthening thought leadership on the subject across the Asia-Pacific region.
