Shobhit S. participated in a consultation on 'Strengthening Accountability Systems: Reflections, Innovations, and Collective Action' organized by SAFAR, MKSS, LibTech India, FES, Land Conflict Watch and others on 14 February 2026 at the National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bangalore.

The consultation convened stakeholders to examine how algorithmic systems in welfare and identity regimes create exclusion, and to develop frameworks for strengthening democratic accountability, transparency, and grievance redress.

Our inputs in a session organized by Land Conflict Watch on ‘Algorithmic Accountability in Welfare and Identity Systems’ drew on our recent research on algorithmic management of work, and highlighted emerging mechanisms for oversight and redress in relation to algorithmic decision-making systems in welfare.
