As a part of the its implementation of its ICT program in schools, the department of School Education is working on developing the Telangana Repository of Open Educational Resources (TROER) web portal, which will be the Telangana State portal of OER, on the lines of the National Repository of OER (NROER).
IT for Change worked with the department to install the TROER on the MediaWiki Free and Open Collaborative content management system. The MediaWiki platform is also used by Wikipedia, the world's most popular OER repository.
IT for Change also worked with a group of mathematics and science teachers on adding and editing content on the TROER site, covering pedagogical aspects such as content categorization, populating metadata for the content and technological aspects of MediaWiki editing.
