IT for Change, in collaboration with Dr. Aditya Ray from UWE Bristol and Christine Ithurdibe from CNRS South Stream Network, is convening a hybrid roundtable titled “Trajectories of Platform Power in the AI Age: Infrastructure, Labour, and India’s Place in the Global Digital Economy” on 2 April 2026 at Samagata Foundation, Bengaluru.
The roundtable will bring together researchers, policy practitioners, and worker organisations to examine how platform power is evolving in India amid rapid advances in digital infrastructures and artificial intelligence. With platforms increasingly functioning as core infrastructures, the discussion will explore questions of technological dependence, digital sovereignty, and labour transformation.
Organised across two thematic rounds—on platform infrastructures, and on labour and regulation—the roundtable will examine how global technology systems intersect with domestic platforms, workers, and institutions, and what this means for labour, governance, and development.
