The Global Digital Justice Forum (GDJ Forum) was invited by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) to submit a civil society statement to the Chairperson and organizers of the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS)+20 Forum High-Level Event 2024, which was held from 27 to 31 May 2024, co-organized by ITU, UNESCO, UNDP and UNCTAD and co-hosted by ITU and the Swiss Confederation, with the support of remote participation.
The statement sets out the expectations of civil society from the WSIS+ 20 review process to realize a digital future with dignity for all. It calls for reinvigorated effort under the WSIS action lines based on international cooperation and collaboration among all relevant stakeholders and makes concrete recommendations to strengthen the action lines.
