The 10th National Bioethics Conference, jointly organized by FMES, IJME, and CMC Vellore, was held virtually over two weekends—March 28–29 and April 4–5, 2025. This edition of the conference focused on the theme "Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Health Care: Ethics, Law and Human Rights Matters." It aimed to critically engage with the ethical and policy dimensions of AI in health care, contributing to more responsible and rights-based approaches to AI governance.

On Friday, April 4, Anita Gurumurthy delivered a keynote address titled "Health-AI policies and governance discourse: Have we got it right?" Her talk reflected on the current governance frameworks around health-AI, questioning whether they adequately address equity, accountability, and rights in rapidly evolving digital health landscapes.

The conference provided a vital platform for cross-sector dialogue among bioethicists, health professionals, legal experts, technologists, and civil society actors committed to advancing ethical, inclusive, and human rights–centered approaches in digital health.
