Civic Data Sabha 2.0

Abhineet Nayyar attended ‘Civic Data Sabha 2.0’, organized by Civic Data Lab on 12 February 2026, at the Dr. Ambedkar International Centre, New Delhi. He provided inputs on the panel ‘Participatory AI Evaluation for Safe and Trusted Systems,’ pointing to the limitations of a voluntary approach to risk declaration and disclosure. Underlining the false choice of opting out, he highlighted that transparency alone would not suffice to build community participation and trust in AI systems, and would instead require top-down systems to actively build the inclusion of affected users and beneficiaries in design and assessment practices.
