Schola Campesina is organizing a 6-week Digital Sovereignty Praxis Course from March to April 2026. Sadhana Sanjay contributed to this course by facilitating the introductory session on the impact of technology and Big Tech on food systems. The session also explored the importance of data governance frameworks that center control in local institutions and redistribute digital innovation gains among the people. The course is designed to help grassroots organizations and unions working on agroecology grasp digitalization, and the impact of Big Tech on food sovereignty. Sadhana’s input highlighted how Big Tech monopolies are centralizing control over local food production systems, disrupting local food security, displacing ancestral wisdom, and forgoing sustainability for profit.
