ReGenAI: A New Deal for the AI Economy

IT for Change requests your endorsement of this statement that challenges the prevailing AI paradigm, characterized by precarity, market concentration, exclusion, and ecological harm.
As organizations and individuals in pursuit of global digital justice, we are united in rejecting the current AI paradigm and calling for a ‘ReGenAI: New Deal for the AI Economy’.

Our New Deal is an articulation of the shared political and normative commitments that emerged from the conference ‘Towards Regenerative AI’ (31 October–1 November 2025) convened by IT for Change. It is an alternative framework that centers:

  • Meaningful and Dignified Work
  • Diversified Economies
  • Pluralistic Knowledge Societies
  • Planetary Flourishing

You can read the full text of the New Deal here.

Let’s seize this moment to chart an alternative path where the adoption of AI is rooted in a vision of just, humane, and decolonial futures. We call on you to stand with us and endorse our New Deal.
